Troubleshooting

The failures worth knowing about, and what each one means for your credits.

A search found fewer leads than I asked for

Usually the market, not the product. Google returns at most sixty businesses per query, duplicates already in your workspace are skipped, and filters throw away most of what comes back. It costs one search either way, and nothing in credits — a thin result is a thin list to choose from, not a bill.

Widen the radius, add categories — each one is a separate sweep — or drop a filter and sort by score instead.

I am asked to complete a security check

That is the bot check on the last searches of the week on Starter. Solve it and start the search; it costs nothing of its own. The weekly allowance is 15 businesses to find on Starter, 100 on Pro and 400 on Agency, refilling Monday at 00:00 UTC alongside the credits. Both figures sit at the top of the search page. See Search.

An audit failed

Sites go down, block automated visitors, or take longer than the check will wait. Retry from the lead — a retry does not cost another credit. The Action Inbox lists failed audits so they do not get lost.

A lead has no screenshot

Some sites refuse to be captured. The rest of the audit — the measured checks and the score — is unaffected, and a missing screenshot is never counted as a finding.

The photo on a lead is not the business

Where a business has no creditable public photo, the workspace shows a stand-in, always labelled as one. Nothing shown as a real photo is a stand-in, and the public brief shows no photograph at all.

My credits look wrong mid-search

Starting a search holds what it might need, so two searches cannot both plan to spend the last five. Nothing is taken — the hold is released when the search ends, including when it fails, and credits are only spent when you open a business. If a balance still looks wrong an hour later, contact support with the search — the ledger records every movement and can be read back.

I cannot open the billing portal

The portal needs a Stripe customer, which exists only after a first paid subscription. If you are on a paid plan and the portal will not open, that is a broken record rather than a missing feature — contact support and say so.

A shared brief link stopped working

Links expire on the schedule chosen when they were made — one, seven or thirty days — and are revoked immediately if you revoke them or delete your account. Generate a new link from the lead.

Nothing on this page matches

Service status first, in case it is us. Then Support in the workspace, or support@halfbuilt.com.au. Include what you were doing and roughly when; the request carries an id that lets the exact run be found.
